ChairmanDr. Mohammad S. Shafi is a renowned Nephrologist highly regarded for his innovative approach and compassionate patient care. He co-founded Dialysis Care Center and Kidney Care Center – two organizations dedicated to providing comprehensive services to patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) or kidney failure. Dr. Shafi’s extensive nephrology experience and commitment to improving patient outcomes make him a leader in his field.
After graduating from King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan, in 1991, Dr. Shafi completed his residency in internal medicine at Englewood Hospital, which is affiliated with the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Following this, he pursued fellowship training in Nephrology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1997, along with a year of fellowship in critical care at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Dr. Shafi’s expertise in infection control in dialysis settings and his contributions to the field have earned him respect as a leading Nephrologist. He is also deeply involved in philanthropy as the board of trustees’ chairman at the IPAC Foundation, an organization dedicated to preventive health in third-world countries.

A trained Internal Medicine physician, he earned his MBA from George Washington University, further enhancing his ability to navigate the complex landscape of healthcare administration. His commitment to excellence and compassionate approach to patient care have solidified his reputation as an esteemed leader in the healthcare industry. Dr. Salako’s outstanding business acumen and visionary leadership have earned him accolades, including being named Person of the Year by the Kidney Community Emergency Response Coalition.
Dr. Umair Haider
General ManagerDr. Umair Haider is an accomplished professional with a wide-ranging background in management, particularly within the healthcare sector in Pakistan. As the General Manager of DCC Consultants since 2022, Dr. Haider’s leadership has been instrumental in the company’s growth and expansion. He was integral in establishing the organization, expanding its teams, and setting up the offshore office of Dialysis Care Center and Kidney Care Center in Pakistan. Under his guidance, DCC Consultants has witnessed significant growth, boasting a workforce of over 100 employees within a few years.
Dr. Haider brings a wealth of experience to his role, having previously served as the Operations Manager for DCC Consultants and as the Chief Operating Officer for the Infection Prevention and Control Foundation. This extensive experience has provided him with a deep understanding of the healthcare industry’s intricacies and challenges. Dr. Haider holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from King Edward Medical University, further enhancing his expertise and qualifications in the field.
Tunji Alausa, M.D.
Executive ChairmanDr. Tunji Alausa is an accomplished nephrologist who has contributed significantly to kidney care. He founded Kidney Care Center, a prominent nephrology practice, and Dialysis Care Center, a provider of premium dialysis services across the United States. Through these ventures, Dr. Alausa has established a national brand that strongly emphasizes delivering top-notch care to patients with chronic kidney disease in underserved communities. Dr. Alausa completed his residency in Internal Medicine (serving as the Chief Medical Resident) at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago. After that, he was appointed Assistant Professor at Rush University Medical School before pursuing specialized training in Nephrology and Hypertension at the Medical College of Wisconsin. His dedication to patient care and philanthropic efforts have earned him numerous awards. His medical publications span basic research and clinical medicine and have been featured in prestigious journals including the New England Journal of Medicine.
