Dr. Mohammad S. Shafi is a renowned Nephrologist highly regarded for his innovative approach and compassionate patient care. He co-founded Dialysis Care Center and Kidney Care Center – two organizations dedicated to providing comprehensive services to patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) or kidney failure. Dr. Shafi’s extensive nephrology experience and commitment to improving patient outcomes make him a leader in his field.

After graduating from King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan, in 1991, Dr. Shafi completed his residency in internal medicine at Englewood Hospital, which is affiliated with the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Following this, he pursued fellowship training in Nephrology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1997, along with a year of fellowship in critical care at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Dr. Shafi’s expertise in infection control in dialysis settings and his contributions to the field have earned him respect as a leading Nephrologist. He is also deeply involved in philanthropy as the board of trustees’ chairman at the IPAC Foundation, an organization dedicated to preventive health in third-world countries.

Dr. Babajide Salako brings a wealth of international experience and expertise from the healthcare industry, where he has excelled in various roles and responsibilities. As the Chief Executive Officer of Dialysis Care Center since 2014, Dr. Salako has been instrumental in shaping the company’s strategic direction and overseeing its daily operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional dialysis services. Before his tenure at DCC, he served as the Senior Director of Disaster Response and Business Continuity at Fresenius, where he was entrusted with managing and responding to disasters affecting kidney patients worldwide.

A trained Internal Medicine physician, he earned his MBA from George Washington University, further enhancing his ability to navigate the complex landscape of healthcare administration. His commitment to excellence and compassionate approach to patient care have solidified his reputation as an esteemed leader in the healthcare industry. Dr. Salako’s outstanding business acumen and visionary leadership have earned him accolades, including being named Person of the Year by the Kidney Community Emergency Response Coalition.
